Operating principle of wooden pallet production line

The wooden pallet production line operates according to a closed automation mechanism, combining many modern equipment to ensure the production process is continuous, accurate and efficient. The main equipment includes: automatic nailing machine, label printing machine, rotating machine, turntable and pallet making machine.

The process begins by feeding the wooden blanks into the automatic nailing machine. Here, the wooden bars are fixed and connected together with nails according to the established size and standards. After nailing is completed, the pallet is transferred to the next processing stage through the automatic blank rotation device, which helps to reorient the product before transferring to the turntable.

From the turntable, the pallet is brought to the pallet making machine, the pallet is placed horizontally and after each stacking, the pallet will be rotated 90 degrees and arranged in a staggered manner. This method helps the pallets not have a back brace, ensuring a secure stacking, saving space and convenient for storage or transportation.

The entire system is designed to collect finished pallets onto a height-adjustable lifting platform. Thanks to that, forklifts can easily receive pallets without having to do manual operations many times.

1. Import raw wood with standard length of 1.2m

Commonly used input materials are acacia (melaleuca), rubber wood or pine. In which, melaleuca is an abundant forest product in Vietnam, often prioritized for cost optimization.

Pine wood is mainly imported, suitable for high-end export orders, wooden bars are often 1.2m or longer for easy processing and cutting according to design size.

2. Sawing wood

Round wood is fed into a high-capacity sawing machine to cut into wooden bars of suitable size. Sawing size depends on the required pallet design.

3. Drying and sterilization, termite prevention

Wooden pallets used for export or long-term storage must undergo drying and sterilization. The wood is put into an industrial dryer and stacked in stacks with ventilation slots. The HT (Heat Treatment) sterilization drying method or fumigation can be applied.

4. Smoothing the wooden bars

After drying, the wooden bars are planed flat to remove the rough wood. Depending on the requirements, 1, 3 or all 4 sides can be planed. High-end orders often require careful planing to ensure aesthetics and avoid scratching the goods during storage or transportation.

5. Cutting the wood according to the design size

The wooden bars are cut precisely according to the pallet design drawing. Workers or the machine system will carefully check the size and quality of the wooden bars.

6. Packing the finished pallet

The wooden bars are assembled and fixed with industrial twist nails, making the pallet sturdy during use. Standard pallets usually consist of crossbars (top), crossbars (load-bearing, underneath) and bottom bars. This step is performed by an automatic nailing machine, which helps increase productivity and accuracy.

7. Finished product storage

After completion, wooden pallets will be stacked and brought to the finished product warehouse. Here, pallets can be printed with logos, barcodes or batch codes (if required).
